CONNECTED COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Standards for Participation & Group Engagement
ConnectED is a professional networking space designed to support educators, consultants, contractors, researchers, and development professionals across the Caribbean and beyond. These guidelines ensure that all members engage responsibly, ethically, and professionally.
1. Professional Conduct
- Engage respectfully and constructively.
- Maintain a professional tone in posts, comments, and messages.
- Avoid defamatory, misleading, or harmful content.
- Respect confidentiality and intellectual property.
- Profile Images: Individual members should use a professional headshot or a realistic professional avatar that represents them. Organisation profiles should use their official logo or recognised brand mark. Images should support a professional environment and must not be misleading, offensive, or inappropriate.
2. Group Formation & Naming
All requests to create a group are subject to review and approval.
- Groups may not use the name of a registered organisation, institution, ministry, association, NGO, or business without authorisation.
- Groups must not imply official endorsement without permission.
- Groups may not be named after an individual without their explicit consent.
- PeTAL reserves the right to request name modifications or decline group requests that may cause confusion or misrepresentation.
- PeTAL Connect may request modifications, clarification, or supporting documentation before approving a group.
Full details are available in the Group Formation & Naming Guidelines. Members are strongly encouraged to review that document before submitting a request to create a group.
3. Employer & Institutional Representation
- Groups representing an employer or department must have appropriate permission.
- Independent informal groups must clearly state they are not officially affiliated.
4. Branding & Intellectual Property
- Do not use copyrighted logos or trademarks without permission.
- Do not imitate PeTAL branding or existing group names in a misleading way.
5. Moderation & Governance
- Each group must designate at least one moderator.
- Moderators are responsible for upholding these guidelines.
- PeTAL may review, suspend, archive, or close groups where necessary.
6. Platform Discretion
PeTAL Connect reserves the right to:
- Decline or remove content that breaches these guidelines.
- Request corrections to prevent misrepresentation.
- Update these guidelines as the platform evolves.
Guiding Principle
PeTAL Connect exists to strengthen professional communities — not to create confusion, impersonation, or reputational risk.
